Learn how to hear and interpret the rhythms, instruments, and structure of Salsa, so your movement feels more natural, intentional, and alive. This special class will explore timing, accents, and musical phrasing—helping you dance with the music, not just to it.
This class is perfect ear training for both brand-new and seasoned Salsa dancers who are ready to take their understanding of dance and music to the next level and be more musical on the social dance floor! Leave with go-to moves you can do when you hear specific instruments in a Salsa song, and a deeper understanding of how to move with Salsa music.

What is Pachanga?!
Pachanga is a lively Afro-Cuban style that blends elements of son, mambo, and charanga, known for its signature bounce and syncopated footwork. It gained popularity during the Palladium Ballroom era and was popularized in Salsa through dancers like Eddie Torres, who integrated its rhythm and styling into their dancing.
In this special class with Annette Saucillo, you’ll learn how to use Pachanga during “Shines”—the moment in social dancing when partners separate, and many dancers wonder what to do. You’ll leave with go-to movements, rhythm, and confidence to express yourself with more playfulness and musicality on the dance floor.
Bachata Footwork 8:45 - 9:45 pm
Rooted in traditional Dominican Bachata, this class focuses on footwork, timing, and musical interpretation. You’ll explore syncopations, weight changes, and intricate patterns that reflect the guitar-driven rhythms of the music. This class will help you build agility, body awareness, and a more authentic connection to Bachata on the dance floor.
