Salsa

Salsa

Salsa dancing originated in the 1960s and 1970s in New York City, blending various dance styles such as Cuban Son, cha-cha-cha, mambo, and Puerto Rican bomba. This vibrant and energetic dance form evolved from the fusion of Afro-Caribbean and Latin American rhythms, incorporating intricate footwork, body movements, and partner work. Salsa quickly became popular in dance clubs and social events, spreading globally and influencing other dance styles. Today, salsa is the most popular partner dance in the world, and is celebrated for its passion, improvisation, and connection between partners on the dance floor.
