Eastalgia Collective, in collaboration with Mojgan Shajarian, presents Forgotten Songs, an intimate concert experience unlike anything she has done before, hosted at Motivo LA. Joined by acclaimed composer and kamancheh virtuoso Mehdi Bagheri and accomplished percussionist Aeen Meshkatian, the performance is rooted in Persian classical and folk traditions while reimagining how audiences experience them live.
Drawing from the radif, the foundation of Persian classical music, alongside folk melodies from different regions of Iran, the ensemble revives songs that are rarely heard performed today. Through the tradition of Saz o Avaz, a spontaneous dialogue between voice and instrument, each performance unfolds through improvisation, emotional exchange, and subtle interplay between vocals and instrumentation.
Because of the highly intimate nature of this experience, capacity is extremely limited. With this being the very first performance of its kind for Mojgan Shajarian, tickets are expected to sell out quickly.

Born into one of the most influential musical families in Iran, Mojgan was immersed in art from an early age. She trained under some of the most revered masters of Persian music, including her father, Maestro Mohammad Reza Shajarian, alongside legendary musicians such as Mohammad Reza Lotfi, Hossein Alizadeh, and Parviz Meshkatian. Through years of rigorous study, she developed a strong foundation in Radif—the core of Persian classical music—and refined her voice in the intricate and expressive form of Persian vocal improvisation known as Āvāz.
As both a vocalist and Setar player, Mojgan performed in more than 150 concerts across Europe, North America, and Australia, appearing in major international festivals and prestigious concert halls. She collaborated extensively with Maestro Mohammad Reza Shajarian and the Shahnaz Ensemble, contributing not only as a performer but also as a creative force in stage design and visual direction.
